Tissot PRS516 Review

I have never been much of a watch enthusiast and didn’t even know what a Tissot PRS516 or even a Tissot was.  I am a “hands on” kind of guy (so says my wife) who works on cars, planes and just am always fixing or building something.

So for me, the Tissot PRS516 sounded like a foreign car, and telling the time by an old fashioned, inexpensive watch like the kind you pick up at the local pharmacy or grocery store was good enough for me. Until I met my wife!

She loves watches and considers them to be works of art!  Me, I just need one to make sure I am on time for things.  So let’s just say that my banged up basic watch, although she said was “manly” was just not pretty enough for her, which also meant non-functional!  WHAT?

So I did listen to her ranting and raving about how you can get high quality watches at affordable prices and not have to spend the big bucks (unless you want to) on Rolex, Breitling and even Omega to have a great looking timepiece on my wrist.

I found that I really like the Tissot PRS516 and the quality it has to offer.  Now my wife is happy that I only wear the banged and dinged up watch when I am out in the workshop or cutting the grass!

Just to name a few of the features of the Tissot Men’s PRS516 Chronograph Watch are three large, easy-to-read chronograph subdials and a tachometer for enhanced functionality. Constructed with a stainless steel case, the watch includes a stationary stainless steel bezel and a stainless steel link bracelet with a secure push-button clasp.

A scratch-resistant sapphire window shields the black dial face. So if you are working on something and you bump it, this should help you from scratching it as much. Also it features bold white hour markers and Arabic numeral indexes at three, nine, and 12 o’clock.

The dial also includes three chronograph subdials with vibrant yellow hands, a date calendar at four o’clock, and is encircled by a white tachometer. Powered by Swiss-quartz movement, this timepiece is water resistant to 660 feet, so if you fall in the water your watch should be OK. But I would still dry it off after you get back out of the water.
